Space Pioneer

hey astronaut boy
aren’t you tired of
looking at home
from afar?

are you tied to
your shuttle
your job and crew
with nothing to do?

you’re out there
passing glances
in the cold,
floating on by

Did no one tell you
that you have choices?

Did they nod and smile
while sending you off?

you think you’re in space
conquering a frontier
but I’m the moon
I shape-shift in shadows

you think you’re alone
but know that you’re not
while you conquer glory
I speak for the stars
